Murray Man - 20th November 2011
Bill Bardsley competed in the recent Murray Man event (http://www.murrayman.com.au/) which was held over the weekend of the 19 & 20th of November. I missed sending out Bill’s result so my apologies. Thanks to Bill here’s a summary of the event...
This years Murray Man was held on Sunday the 20th of November at Barmera in the Riverland of South Australia. The whole area is lush green after all of the rain over the last year. I've got to say the drive to Barmera although long was enjoyable as the county is so beautiful at present.
The locals in Barmera were very welcoming of the event with many volunteers and spectators. The ride and run were both over 4 laps through town and the swim was in Lake Bonney which is a body of fresh water about 7 x 3 km.
The day was hot and windy and the sun was extreme!! I got badly sun burnt on the run.
The race length was 2/82/21 - 95 people started the race a few didn't finish

Happy with the run - an even pace the whole 21km but the swim was a shocker with choppy water and I drunk a fair % of Lake Bonney.
